Romantyków hommage dla Bacha: Schumanna, Mendelssohna i Liszta muzyka organowa

Abstrakt:

The article concerns the phenomenon of Bach-Renaissance in 19th-century music, exemplified by Schumann’s, Mendelssohn’s and Liszt’s organ works. The resonance of Bach’s musical signature, B-A-C-H motif – quoted by Schumann and Liszt – is being of great interest. The authoress presents different approaches to Bach’s music: an approach dominated by intellectual and analytical perspective (Schumann, who studied Bach’s scores very thoroughly), an approach dominated by practical perspective of a performer (Mendelssohn, who played Bach’s music a lot) and a distanced attitude (Liszt, who distinguished immortal and mortal Bach’s works). Bach’s influence on 19th-century organ music is being discussed.
