The aim of this contribution is a brief introduction of message which John Paul II left for Slovaks. Pope John Paul II visited Slovakia three times also thanks to his close relationship to Slovak nation. During those apostolic visits there was strengthen mutual hearty relationship between pope and Slovaks. We want to point out that in Slovak society was different and very specific atmosphere in the years in which all these three Apostolic visits were realised. This variedness was caused by problems of transformation of Soviet imperialism remnant. By these facts we would like to point out how was the message of John Paul II and his apostolic visits presented in media; what extent was dedicated to this topic and what the journalists prefered. Apart from that we would like to briefly introduce other activities of John Paul II which he performed in the relation to Slovak nation during his pontificate.
