Stanislas Breton.

Abstrakt:

Stanislaus Breton. Between the Mystique and the Critique.

The presented article gives a concise summary of the intellectual way of Stanislaus Breton, a French philosopher. Besides the biography and the exposition of the most important inspirations which animated Breton’s thought (neoplatonism, thomism and phenomenology), the introduction delivers an account of relations linking the author with other contemporary philosophers. Moreover, the commentator presents the most important ideas contracted in the essay titled “God is God”; there is also a short sketch of sociopolitical context (e.g., the terrorist attacks in Western Europe in the 80-ties) in which Breton wrote his text.
