This article offers a brief introduction into C. S. Peirce’s paper: Evolutionary Love (1893). It sketches the historical and intellectual context in which that paper appeared: both the story of Peirce’s growing interest of speculative thought, and the circumstances in which this text might have been published along with other four cosmological articles in „The Monist”. Moreover, a short overview of the content of Evolutionary Love is presented, and, in particular, the relevance of this paper, its consistence with the rest of Peirce’s thought, and, on the other hand, a diminishing response it drew throughout many years.
