Arnolda Dresdena (1882-1954) filozofia matematyki

Abstrakt:

A. Dresden’s philosophy of mathematics has a syncretistic nature. American mathematician accepted the thesis of constructivism from L. E. J. Brouwer’s intuitionism. However, he rejected intuitionistic statement, that the mathematics is prior to the logic. Dresden “combined” the constructivism with empiricism in the epistemology of mathematics. He accepted pluralism in mathematics, which is difficult to reconcile with the adopted constructivism. Despite the syncretistic nature Dresden’s philosophy of mathematics remains an interesting proposition.
