A translation into Polish of a part of Pavel Florensky’s famous paper “The Meaning of Idealism” published in Russian in 1915, is presented. The translation of the first six sections of the paper was published with a commentary in the previous issue of Logos i Ethos. Florensky’s paper is mainly devoted to the problem of universals. The author analyzes the idea of four-dimensional world, which appeared in mythology, philosophy, art, and religion. He tries to adopt that idea to the problem of universals. Universals might be thought as four-dimensional entities, and particulars as their three-dimensional aspects. Next, Florensky analyzes the meaning of the term “genus”, “species”, and “idea” in the ancient Greek.
