When does the academic year at UPJPII begin and end?
The academic year consists of two semesters. The first semester runs from the beginning of October to-mid January and the second semester runs from February to the end of June.
What programmes are offered at UPJPII?
UPJPII offers fully accredited bachelor's, master's and doctoral programmes. For all programmes it is important to note that the language of instruction is Polish only.
Will I receive credits/study points at my home institution for the courses that I take at UPJPII?
Yes, it is possible to transfer credits from UPJPII. However, it is your own responsibility to arrange for credit transfer with your home institution before coming to Cracow.
How will my grades and transcripts reach my home institution?
It is your responsibility to ask for an official transcript. It will be mailed/send to your home institution.
Could I study at UPJPII even though my institution does not have an exchange agreement with UPJPII?
Yes, UPJPII welcomes self-funding "free movers" who are serious about obtaining credits for credit transfer.
How many credits should I take?
A normal workload for UPJPII students is 30 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) per semester, 60 ECTS per academic year. This is the workload that is expected of visiting students as well.
Can I change my subject choices once I arrive in Cracow?
Yes. The changes to the Learning Agreement can be considered during the first weeks.
How do I apply to study as an Erasmus-student at UPJPII?
You have to apply to the Erasmus Unit at your home university. If you are nominated the departmental coordinator at your home faculty gives notice to UPJPII by sending names and addresses to UPJPII.
When are the deadlines for applications?
For winter semester: Mai 31, 2009. For summer semester: October 31, 2009.
How do I find out about UPJPII's courses?
The Catalogue of Courses is available on the web at www.pat.krakow.pl > Wydziały > Studia > Opisy przedmiotów. The catalogue for 2009/2010 will not be available until summer 2009.
Do I have to pay tuition fees?
No. Incoming Erasmus students do not pay tuition fees to UPJPII. You will have to pay for accommodation and living expenses.
Will UPJPII provide accommodation?
Yes. Provided your application is received by the deadline.
My university does not have a bilateral agreement with UPJPII. Can you accept my application?
No. UPJPII cannot accept you as an Erasmus student. However, if your home institution has an Erasmus European University Charter, UPJPII might be willing to sign a cooperation agreement limited to the period of your stay or you may apply as a self-funding student.
Is there any other way I can come to UPJPII for a short period of studying?
You are welcome to apply as a fee-paying, self-funding non-graduating student.
